Medical and Psychological Screening
The Medical and Psychological Screening for a Career Astronaut are required after passing the Career Astronaut Evaluation Panel and getting accepted as a Career Astronaut Candidate. Medical and psychological screening are essential parts of the ongoing review process for a career in space. These screenings are important to ensure that you’re physically and mentally fit to work in the space industry. Because of the strides that we are making to make space more accessible to everyone, these screening methodologies will be adjusted over time. It is our goal to remove disabilities as barriers to space. The screenings are usually provided by your medical provider. In addition to your medical provider providing a medical release, you will be asked to complete the Organizational Team Index and other assessments.
