The assignment of Career Astronaut Teams to spaceflight missions is determined by our clients and their specific needs for commercial astronaut teams. Mission assignments and team selection criteria are tailored to meet the requirements of our clients.
Career Astronaut Candidates who successfully complete all 11 stages of training are deemed ready for assignment to a spaceflight mission.
Following the completion of the initial training stages, the subsequent stages (12 through 16) are focused on the assigned missions:
Stage 12: To Be Determined (TBD) based on Mission Objectives
Stage 13: Mission Training and Astronaut Consulting
– Flight-ready candidates receive astronaut consulting and mission training oversight.
– Mission Operations Training is provided by an external consultant.
– Astronauts are assigned specific tasks while onboard the International Space Station (ISS).
– Primary flight and secondary flight astronauts are identified.
Stage 14: Active Flight Mission
– Involves the actual flight to the ISS, Gateway Mission, Lunar Mission, Mars Mission, or other designated missions.
– AdvancingX collaborates with NASA to monitor and assess individual health, team performance, and the documentation of experiences.
– Results are documented and evaluated against training expectations.
– Team performance results are delivered.
Stage 15: Mission Operations
– Involves active participation in ISS Mission Ops, Lunar Ops, Mars Ops, Gateway Ops, or other designated mission operations.
– AdvancingX continues to support NASA in monitoring and assessing individual health, team performance, and the documentation of experiences.
– Performance outcomes are documented and evaluated against training expectations.
– Team performance results are delivered.

Stage 16: Return Flight and Post-Mission
– Involves evaluating and documenting the well-being of Career Astronauts upon their return to Earth.
– Physical and psychological health and well-being of Career Astronauts are assessed and documented.
– Career Astronauts undergo debriefing post-spaceflight.
– Performance expectations are evaluated against training expectations and outcomes.
– Team performance results are delivered.
These stages ensure that Career Astronauts are supported throughout the entire mission process, from training to mission operations and post-mission evaluation, in order to meet the goals and expectations set by our clients and achieve successful outcomes.
